Between visiting the PepsiCo Sculpture Gardens, Neuberger Museum and our evening performance at the PepsiCo Theater, we needed a place for an early dinner. Leaving the choice to my “better half” brought us to the Westchester Burger Co. in Rye Brook, a close, three plus miles from the campus. This is one of a small chain offering a large variety of burgers, plus other choices.
Located in a small shopping area, the paved parking lot has three handicapped (van)-accessible spaces near the stone walkway. A large, street-level, single door leads to another door and then the hostess area. This large venue has a variety of dining areas, from a full-height bar/lounge area with high tables, to booths, banquets, and tables. Wood floors and well-spaced tables allow for easy navigation. Several of the dining areas require three steps, either up or down, depending on location.
Making a choice from the large menu was not easy. Everything from “regular” burgers to bison, turkey, veggie, tuna, with a variety of buns and toppings created a problem for me, who always finds it difficult to make a decision. Luckily, our server was lovely and patient. The salads at the next table looked good as well! Our choices turned out great, including perfectly done fries. What more could one ask?
Multi-stall restrooms with handicapped stalls and baby-changing stations are located just inside the main entrance.
As always, we at Destination:Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.westchesterburger.com, when planning a visit , to “know before you go”
