Andrea's 25, Woodbury

Andrea's 25 is located at 8285 Jericho Turnpike, in the Woodbury Commons Shopping Center. Three handicapped spaces (2 van accessible) are located to the left and right of the entrance. A stone and tile entryway with a slight incline lead to a revolving door, flanked by a single door on either side.  If one needs to use the single door, a large plant inside must be moved.

Three steps or a ramp will get one to the bar area and restrooms.  The  bar is stool height with no accommodation for a wheelchair.  There is a couch and low table in the lounge area as well. The dining room is easily navigable with space between tables.

Restrooms are multi-stall, with a large, handicapped-accessible stall. There is no baby changing station.

A gracious invitation from the Syosset Rotary club brought me to Andrea's 25, in the Woodbury Commons Shopping Center on Jericho Trunpike.

The paved, parking lot has two handicapped spaces (one is van accessible) to the left of the entrance. There is one van accessible space to the right.

I found it interesting to see that the stone and tile incline in front led to a revolving door flanked by a single door on either side.  A  large plant in the restaurant, in front of the single door must be moved for a patron who is unable to use the revolving door to enter.  Once inside, I found a warm, welcoming venue.  White tablecloths, high ceilings and a warm color palette make Andrea's very inviting.

As I looked around I found that there were either three steps or a ramp to the bar area. The area has a couch and low table, but the bar itself is stool-height with no accommodation for a wheelchair.

Multi-stall restrooms are behind the bar area. Each has a large, handicapped-accessible stall, but no baby-changing station.

The group had its own ""semi-private"" area, away from the main room.  The main dining area has nicely spaced tables and chairs for easy navgation.

The restaurant was fairly busy for a Tuesday afternoon.  The website says, ""Staples of Italian Cuisine converge with Chef-inspired innovation.""  Considering the menu items I sampled I could see why Andrea's was busy. Our server was gracious and efficient, eager to please all of us.

As always, we at Destination:Accessible advise you to check a venue's website, www.andreas25.com, when planning a visit, to "know before you go."
