The Heckscher Museum of Art is situated in a park in Huntington Village.
A small paved, parking lot with two handicapped spaces is right next to the Museum.
The handicapped ramp is integrated with the main entrance.
There are large, heavy, double doors with no handicapped assist push button.
The large, easily navigable, spacious galleries are all on the main floor.
There are no handicapped accessible restrooms in the museum. Restrooms are located on the lower level and are accessible only by stairs.
A handicapped accessible restroom is available in a nearby building. You need to ask someone from the Museum to unlock it. This is usually not a problem Monday through Friday, when there is always someone available. Weekends may be more problematic. One can call ahead to make sure there will be someone to assist or one can use the handicapped accessible public restrooms located in the park.
