Caffe Storico - read more
On our last visit to the New York Historical Society we did not have time to stop for something to eat in this beautiful cafe. This time, here for the Al Hirschfeld exhibit, we made sure to visit this lovely Italian restaurant, located inside the museum.
We entered from the museum, but museum admission is not required. You can enter on 77 Street using either the steps or ramp.
We were impressed by the beautiful decor; high ceilings, chandeliers, and walls lined with mostly white dinnerware. All of this gives an open, airy feeling to the sapce.
Banquettes, tables and chairs have ample space between them.
Handicapped-accessible restrooms are located in the hallway of the museum.
The cafe, with an all Italian wine list, serves lunch, brunch, and dinner as well as a late afternoon menu (from 3 - 5 pm). Reservations are accepted.
The decor is impressive, our food was delicious and the service was professional. What more could one ask for?
As always, we at Destination:Accessible advise you to check a venue's website, www.nyhistory.org, when planning a visit, to ""know before you go.""
